Free half day skid control training

Skid Control Half Day Course

Course Cost £139.00

If you would like to improve your Skid control skills and feel more in control in difficult driving conditions this course will be ideal for you. Driverskills always provide training of the highest level and on this skid pan course your instructor will be a professional from the world of motorsport.

Skid Control Course Format

First there is a short presentation from our chief instructor on the theory of skid control. He will explain why drivers often lose control when the roads are slippery and the correct techniques to regain control of the vehicle. You will also learn how to use Anti Lock Braking correctly to avoid crashes.

Skid Control Demonstration

Your Skid Pan instructor will demonstrate controlling the vehicle in various skids and explain how he is doing it!

Skid Pan Sessions

Then it's your turn to drive our skid pan car with your instructor in the passenger seat giving you advice and encouragement.

ABS Demonstration

Anti Lock Brakes are an amazing safety device in trained hands and your instructor will demonstrate what they can do in an emergency!

ABS Session

For this training session we set up an avoidance exercise on our piece of private motorway section. You will need to avoid a collision with standing traffic (Traffic cones actually, so no need to worry!) and brake to a stop from 60mph whilst changing lanes!

Crash and Escape Presentation

This 15 minute presentation provides you with information on what to do in an accident situation. It covers subjects like: how to safely escape from an up-turned vehicle, what airbags do, what you should carry in your vehicle and much more! This is an interesting course and is totally unique to Driverskills.

Develop REAL Skid Control Skills

Our skid control vehicles are NOT adapted with skid cradles or jockey wheels. For the most effective training we use normal modern family saloons fitted with special low grip tyres. These vehicles will handle and respond in the same way as your vehicle does making the skid pan training more like a real situation and much more effective.
